Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona celebrates Governor Tim Walz’s selection as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate

Reacting to today’s news that Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona Executive Director Sena Mohammed issued the following statement:

"This morning, Vice President Kamala Harris announced the selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

"OVOV proudly supports this decision as Governor Walz’s progressive record aligns seamlessly with OVOV’s vision for a just and equitable future for all Americans. As a veteran and former educator, Governor Walz has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and an unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of the people he serves throughout his career. Tim Walz has staunchly defended women’s bodily autonomy, expanded LGBTQ rights, and strengthened voting rights with legislation widely expanding voter access. In short, he has proven his dedication to the progressive values we hold dear. His support of economic justice and welcoming stance towards immigrants is evident through the policies he has enacted as Governor and reflect the compassionate and progressive leadership qualities needed in the White House. We celebrate this choice and we are looking forward to working with the Harris-Walz campaign to fight for a brighter, more equitable future for Arizona and America."
