Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona Launches The Power of Us Get Out The Vote Tour

Series of six events In Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal Counties will open a dialogue about the issues that matter most to Black Arizonans and highlight the importance of voting this November

Phoenix, Ariz. (Sept. 13, 2024) — The community power building organization Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona (OVOV AZ) today announced The Power of Us Get Out The Vote Tour, a new series of voter engagement events coming to Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal counties in the leadup to the 2024 general election. OVOV AZ has planned two events per county, one for Black men and one for Black women.

“We know it’s going to take each and every one of us to turn Arizona blue and protect our hard-won rights,” said Sena Mohammed, executive director of OVOV AZ. “These events are about building our base of volunteers and organizers, listening to our neighbors, registering new voters, and educating our community on the power of the Black vote in Arizona. We’re launching the Power of Us Get Out The Vote Tour to create space for Black voters to talk about the issues that matter the most to us and how they relate to this election and our future.”

Dates for the Power of Us Get Out The Vote events are: 

  • Sept. 28, 2024: Building Economic Power: Black Men in Business (Phoenix)

  • Sept. 30, 2024: Barbershop Talks: Bold Conversations with Black Men (Maricopa)

  • Oct. 5, 2024: Courage to Lead: Black Women Defining the Future (Tucson)

  • Oct. 10, 2024: Clean Energy, Clear Future: Protecting Black Communities (Tucson)

  • Oct. 17, 2024: Voices of Power: Black Women Leading the Way (Maricopa)

  • Oct. 19, 2024: Black Moms on a Mission: Protecting Our Rights, Securing Our Future (Phoenix)
